Course Overview

AIARE 2 takes the process you learned in AIARE 1 and applies it to more complex terrain, weather, and snowpack problems. You will practice making observations, reducing uncertainty, and helping lead a small group through real backcountry decisions.

The course includes AIARE's one-day Avalanche Rescue course. New rescue students will learn companion rescue from the ground up; returning students will refresh their systems and work through more realistic scenarios with instructor feedback.

Why Take Your AIARE 2 + Rescue with Us?

Lodging and meals are included, so you can focus on learning. Staying at the yurt with classmates and instructors keeps the discussion going after the field day, with room for a few good turns along the way.
